The MSc in biomedical science (via distance learning/modular ) is ideal for those interested earning a master’s degree while remaining in employment. Developed for working graduates of engineering, technology, or science who wish to upskill or change career direction, this flexible programme allows you to complete your degree in two to six years.
Modules are selected and paid for à la carte, and as few as one or as many as six taught modules can be completed in a given year. Candidates may join the programme at any time throughout the academic year. Students are introduced to interdisciplinary research using technologies and skills from scientific, engineering, and clinical disciplines. Course contributors are active researchers and industry experts in all areas of biomedical science. On completion of six or 12 taught modules, students also have the option to exit with a PG Cert or PG Dip in biomedical science, respectively.
The NUI Galway programme is based within the NCBES, an interdisciplinary centre of research excellence with a primary focus on five research themes, including biomedical engineering, cancer, infectious disease, neuroscience and regenerative medicine (ncbes.nuigalway.ie).
